Vertex Four-stroke pistons

Four-stroke engines have much higher cylinder pressures when compared to two-strokes and are generally manufactured from forgings. To handle the internal pressures of a four-stroke engine, Vertex's four-stroke pistons are forged from the highest quality 2618 aluminum alloy for superior strength and durability. Vertex uses unique piston profiles and compression ratios, offered in A, B, C and D sizes, to maximize power and performance while reducing blow-by and oil consumption.

Vertex is a company from Italy which produces original pistons for many currently produced two and four stroke dirtbikes. Their pistons are found in original KTM dirtbikes and their aftermarket range are known as 'Performance Pistons'. Vertex pistons are also popular for high-end tuning.

Technical features of Vertex pistons:

• All pistons are heat treated with a T-5 hardening and tempering cycle
• All piston skirts are coated with a high-tech Molybdenum Disulphite coating for faster break-in time and increased piston life
• Cast piston kits are gravity cast aluminum alloy (not forged) with 18% silicone content, which produces an extremely light but very strong piston
• Forged pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum for superior strength and durability
• Forged High Compression pistons improve power and torque across entire rpm range
• Big Bore pistons increase engines displacement, torque, and peak horsepower
• Forged Replica pistons are forged OE replacements
